Finding tools, local processing, and browser requirements.
How do I find a tool?
Browse 93 tools, choose a category, or search by name and task. Press Ctrl/Cmd + K from any page to jump to a tool. On the library, press / to focus search. Escape closes dialogs.
Where do my files go?
File processing happens in your browser. The app does not send your files or text to a processing server. Downloads are saved through your browser. Close or leave a tool to discard its input.
What gets remembered?
Favorites, display preferences, and (optionally) recently used tool names stay in local storage on this device. Tool inputs and passwords are never saved by the toolkit. Use Preferences to disable history or reset preferences.
Does it work offline?
Tools already loaded can often work offline. This release does not precache the entire app: opening an uncached tool, loading the video runtime, or downloading an AI model needs a connection. AI tools explain the download before you start.
Why do some tools need HTTPS?
Encryption, checksums, password generation, camera access, and clipboard features rely on browser security APIs. Run on HTTPS or localhost. Camera and clipboard permission can be denied; you can still import files or copy results manually where supported.
Are there file limits?
Limits depend on the tool and available browser memory. Large video and AI jobs can take significant resources. ZIP inspection is guarded, text utilities limit large inputs, and image utilities reject excessively large raster files. Prefer small test files before a large batch.
Can I open old encrypted files?
Yes. The encryption tools detect the original legacy format when decrypting. New encryption uses an authenticated, versioned format. Keep the password: there is no account, password reset, or recovery service.
Which languages are supported?
The existing tools retain English, German, Spanish, and French translations and localized URLs. The new toolkit and new utilities currently use English. The language picker preserves the current tool.
Are AI detection and cost estimates definitive?
No. AI text detection is an experimental heuristic, not evidence of authorship. Token and cost estimates vary by model and template. Check the model provider’s current pricing before relying on a budget estimate.
